A Philippine Human Rights NGO providing Psychosocial Services and Rehabilitation to Internally Displaced Persons and Survivors of Torture and Organized Violence.
A network of 30 independent civil society organizations and representatives from government agencies and security forces will hold a run to affirm the state’s policy to prohibit torture and penalize perpetrators on June 25, 2016. The activity will take place in time for the worldwide observance of the International Day in Support for Victims of Torture.
An association of torture survivors and former political detainees was able to access livelihood support from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) under the Comprehensive Program for the Rehabilitation of Torture Victims and their Families (CPRTV) as provided under Section 19 the Anti Torture Act or Republic Act 9745.

Balay Executive Director Josephine Lascano conveyed her solidarity with the Danish people who commemorated the 63rd year since Denmark was established as Constitutional Monarchy. She also congratulated the Government of Denmark led by Queen Margrethe II and Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on the occasion of their Constitution Day in a dinner organized by the Danish Embassy in Baluarte de San Diego in Intramuros on June 6, 2016.

Three torture survivors fear for their safety following the torment they suffered from members of a paramilitary group in Brgy. Demoloc in Malita, Davao Occidental. Based on interviews and sworn statement gathered by Balay documenters, the victims – two of whom are minors - were forced by an army sergeant and members of the Special CAFGU Auxiliary Force (SCAA) to admit that they conspired with each other to steal from a neighbourhood store last February 2016.
