GENEVA (16 March 2017) – Lawmakers in the Philippines are being urged by the UN Special Rapporteurs on extrajudicial executions and torture* to reject a proposed Death Penalty Bill which is under consideration in Manila.
Human Rights Group outside House of Representatives call on legislators to reject the reimposition of Death Penalty
We call on to our legislators to reject House Bill No. 4727 which seeks for the reimposition of Death Penalty. Capital punishment must not be revived for any crime for the following reasons;

Bagong Silang and, eventually, in other barangays in Caloocan City – North where incidence of violence are perceived to be significant.
